ADD/ADHD-medications

We hope that you will find this list of medications prescribed for ADD/ADHD helpful. These medications are classified as either Methylphenidates, or 2) Dextroamphetamines. Children with ADD/ADHD may respond better to medications in one class, or to specific medications within a particular class.

The common side effects of these medications are loss of appetite, stomach aches, and insomnia. Since these medications have not been thoroughly studied in children under 6 years of age, Dr. Eisner generally refers these children who may have ADD/ADHD to a specialist.
